Backbone Radio, October 2, 2011
Audio archives for this show:
After another volatile week in the stock market, we have much of interest to talk about on this week’s edition of Backbone Radio, including the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen by a US drone/jet attack. Do you think it’s OK for America to kill an American citizen, even if he’s as bad as Awlaki? Reasonable people disagree.
At 5:15 PM, our guest will be Shawn Lewis, President of the College Republicans at UC Berkeley. His group recently put on a “diversity bake sale” with different prices for different groups of people to protest a move by the state government to reintroduce race (and other such factors) into college admissions. It was a great story, and the liberal media – as well as the liberals at Berkeley – hated it.
At 5:30 PM, we’ll be joined by Victor Mitchell of Save Colorado Jobs to talk about why the massive tax hike known as Proposition 103 should be voted down. (I’ve also written a note about Prop 103 here.)
And from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, I have the privilege of hosting, in studio, former Congressman Virgil Goode (R-VA). We’ll have a wide ranging discussion, going from economics, to the ins-and-outs of being a member of Congress, to the pros and cons of legalizing online gambling. We’d love to take your calls as part of the conversation. Virgil has also been discussed as the possible nominee of the Constitution Party to run for the presidency in 2012. We’ll be sure to ask him about that.
Please join me by listening to (and calling in to) this week’s Backbone Radio program from 5 PM to 8 PM on 710 AM KNUS in Denver and 1460 AM KZNT in Colorado Springs.
If you’re not in range of the radio waves, you should be able to listen to the show online by clicking HERE.
I hope you’ll actively participate in the conversation with me: Call the studio at 303 696 1971.
