A local example of failed Keynsian "stimulus"

Thanks to Ike for this link to a story from his neck of the woods.

It shows the economic point that Keynesian government stimulus doesn’t work (or at least it’s an example of it not working). But there are many such examples…so what I like particularly about it is how it shows the inevitable corruption that follows with government spending. In other words, even if there were some reason to believe that Keynesian stimulus were theoretically sound (it isn’t, of course), the nature of government spending is so corrupt that even the best-made plans are doomed to something between massive inefficiency and outright failure.
