An utterly self-serving blog post and request

To make a long story short, I was involved in a business deal which ended up making me a shareholder (with more shares than I would ever have expected to own) in the company that makes New Leaf Tea.

New Leaf is now on Facebook and has a goal of reaching 500 “fans” in short order.  I’d like to ask you, if you’re willing, to go to the Facebook page and “become a fan":

Separately, I’d ask you to give the stuff a try if you’re buying iced tea and you see it where you’re shopping.  In Colorado, you can find it in King Soopers and Whole Foods, among other places.  I’ve also found it in the Sunflower Market and Ideal Market in Boulder.

I don’t mind owning the stock because I think the tea tastes excellent (I particularly like the plum flavor) and because I’m very impressed with the CEO.

Anyway, I hope you don’t mind this utterly self-serving note and I hope you’ll consider trying the tea and becoming a Facebook “fan".

If anybody wants to know anything about the stock, you can contact me directly.  I’m not interested in being in a position where anyone could claim that I was trying to promote a stock, so I’m not going to mention the symbol here.  And for anyone who does their own homework, let me be clear that I’m not offering a stock recommendation and that the stock is very thinly traded and very speculative.  While I’m cautiously optimistic about my investment, bad things can happen at any time, especially to small companies.  To put it plainly: I’m trying to get you to buy tea, not stock.
