Another disaffected Republican

As one of the “disaffected” voters the Republican Party is trying to “woo back”, my guess is that it’s too little, too late. The GOP has for too long believed that they needed only court social conservatives to maintain power. But for many voters like me, the only real purpose for the Republican Party is to restrain the growth of government and its cost.

So, when the GOP has controlled the Presidency and both Houses of Congress and has simply saddled us with the biggest growth of spending and entitlements in our history, I can’t believe their claims of “Really, we’ll be better if you just re-elect us.”

There is no doubt that the Democrats are even worse, but at this point as much as I loathe Pelosi, Rangel and Conyers, I might rather see them control the House but not be able to get anything done than to see more GOP profligacy. If there is anything the last few years have taught us, it is that a divided government is safest for the citizens’ wallets.

As a staunch Republican who saw the CNN program, it didn't take much to push back from Lamborn, but with the revelations in the CNN show, I have to say I do not know how any Christian conservative Republican could actually vote for Lamborn. As far as I'm concerned, the Republican party has betrayed us on ethics and spending. The Contract for America was a grand idea but once my party came to power, and once we had all 3 branches of government in power, we screwed this country up far worse thatn I thought the Democrats were. I'm not changing parties now but I'm splitting my ticket instead of voting blindly Republican. In the 5th CD, I'm voting for Jay Fawcett! God only knows I never thought that day would come, but it has.

    "Not get anything done" ????
Do you recall the absolutely disgusting, treasonous, anti-American-citizen pro-illegal-alien Senate bill that the Republican House derailed? The one that would have given to illegals MORE benefits than tp law-abiding citizens? That same bill that President Bush said that he supported? That bill that the Demonocrats supported? And that same bill that they will re-introduce IF they are in power in the House?
You can bet your enchilada that THIS will definitely get done!!!!
And that is just the beginning of my rant. I won't go into the fact that the anti-terrorism bills would not have ended up as law with Pelosi et al in charge.
