Chris Christie for President (some day)

H/T Joseph Lawlor, AmSpec

As Lawlor notes, it might be a little early for Christie to be a serious presidential contender – and it would almost certainly be better for New Jersey if he stays there for a while – but with talk like Christie’s at a time like this in our nation’s political and economic history, it’s hard to see a more appealing Republican candidate (based on what we know now…things can change, of course.)

Here’s the highlight for me: “All of us understand – we were taught by our parents, I suspect – that you don’t get something for nothing in this world, ever.  Yet government has tried to sell you over the course of time this idea that we’re not going to give you something for nothing, but we’re going to give you something and someone else is going to pay for it. So it’s not for nothing, but it’s for nothing to you. What has happened in our state and in our country…is that those chickens have come home to roost.” (Take that, Jeremiah Wright…)

You see the difference between a Christie and Obama in this video and that is Christie truly cares and believes what he is saying, and Obama is an empty suit trying to hold a position of power. It it most telling seeing as Obama ALWAYS speaks with a teleprompter. If you are coming from a position of caring, then when asked to speak for 6+ minutes, you don't need to be told what to say. Christie cares. He is not a career politician.
