Jim DeMint offers the best Senate commentary on the bailout

Everyone should see this...especially everyone to gets to vote on the bailout bill in the House of Representatives some day soon.

Ross, you had some very good answers to commenters on your excellent article over at Human Events, especially to Diana from the Twilight Zone.

    Very good!

Senator Demint's speech was compelling. And, there can be no doubt that many are using fear, fear of what might happen if we do not act, to sell the bailout.

Its much like Iraq really. While at times over the last 5 years, in the face of astounding suicidal atrocities by various iraqi factions, mounting Coalition casualties, and a continuing financial bloodbath, it might have seemed like the wrong decision to have intervened. However, we will never know what might have happened if we had not.

If this bill or another like it is not passed relatively quickly, we are told, in this case, we will learn the cost of inaction and will be in a position to weigh it against what would have been the costs of the bill. .....I'd love to finish this thought but my girlfriend's car is broken down in the middle of an intersection. She, and I, would certainly feel the pain of inaction...
