Rob Reiner should have known he had a problem when the essentially socialist LA Times came out against his Universal Preschool program, as I wrote about a few weeks ago.

On Tuesday, Proposition 82 got less than 40% of the vote in the very liberal state, winning only in 3 counties (of which one was San Francisco). The defeat was no surprise given that Proposition 82 ended up being a massive handout to education unions at outrageous cost to taxpayers...nor is it a surprise that it passed in SF.

This was not just a defeat, it was political destruction. We have to hope that Rob Reiner, who makes most California liberals look fiscally responsible, has taken serious damage to his ability to support political initiatives in the future.
