Michael J. Fox loses credibility

I was going to mention this on Sunday, but it slipped my mind:

I watched George Stephanopolous interview Michael J. Fox on the ABC Sunday Morning political show during which Fox was acting as a shill for the Democrats while denying that's what he is doing.

Clearly Fox is passionate about his cause, and who wouldn't be in his situation? He has had Parkinsons Disease for over 15 years, and he sees some potential hope for others, if not for himself, in stem cell research.

Reasonable people can disagree about the potential for this research and whether there is substantial difference in the potential between adult and embryonic stem cells.

But this week's debate is about politics, not science, and there was a lot of focus on Fox's endorsement of the Democratic challenger to incumbent Senator Jim Talent in Missouri, something he claimed was primarily because of the Democrat's support of the stem cell bill on the ballot in that state.

However, when Stephanopolous asked Fox about whether the Missouri bill would allow human cloning, Fox responded that he had not actually read the bill.

I must say I was rather sympathetic to Michael J. Fox and even his support of politicians whom I disagree with about almost everything...until he admitted that he had not even read the measure which he was claiming as the basis for his endorsement in Missouri. Yes, Mr. Fox, you are indeed a Democratic shill...at least this time.

    Can't argue there. With this whole thing I'll say...

    Fox = Democratic Shill
    Rush = Insensitive, hypocritical prick
