Ross - I'd heard a bit about this film, but your review is chilling. I'm not sure how our country survives when a major cultural institution like Hollywood puts vile products and untruths like this into the world market. (To say nothing of its corrosive effect on and within the nation). I've read something similar recently, in a voice very much like yours. It's the last chapter of a book called, of all things, "I.T. Wars" - the book deals with people and their use of systems, the last chapter discusses our dependence on various systems (for utilities, healthcare, policing, military operations, banking, travel, business, and on and on...), and the country's vulnerability to an electro-magentic pulse (EMP), delivered through a modest nuclear warhead. The tie-in to your review, and these movies, is that a nuclear device is soon or now available to small groups, undeterred by reason, who would gladly remove power and data from an entire country through EMP. By stoking their hatred with things like "Redacted," we simply create the climate for the ultimate storm to form, and deliver. There is a large picture here, and many intelligent people - including people of courage - are becoming very fearful. Read that last chapter of "I.T. Wars" if you get a chance (Ch. 21 - What's at Stake).
