New website for Colorado news and issues
Some people I know have started a new web site to bring you news and opinion with a focus on Colorado. For those of you in (or interested in) Colorado and what's going on here, I recommend you make it regular reading. If you have any constructive criticism about the site, please send it to them through their "contact us" link, or you could send it to me and I'll forward it along.
The site is called What's News Colorado and can be found at:

Hey Stupid: Re your mention that Congressman Tancredo is "anti- immigrant" in your recent story about that Colorado bill allowing for the possibility of licenses being issued to illegal immigrants, why don't you get your facts straight before writing! Tancredo is NOT anti-immigrant, but anti-illegal immigrant. Check out his website and the subjects of his lectures and public discussions on this issue. Mr. stupid, do you comprehend the meaning and distinction between a legal immigrant and an illegal immigrant? I trust not. Robert Luppi

Well, Mr. Luppi,
First let me thank you for the very nice "Hey Stupid" introduction.
Second, I know very well the difference between legal and illegal immigrant. And I've also met and spoken with Tom Tancredo several times and I like him.
But there is not doubt that while Tom is not exactly anti-immigrant, he is certainly not known for being for increased immigration of any sort, legal or not. Thus, my take on him as somewhat anti-immigrant is not that he has a problem with people currently here legally but that he's not particularly interested in letting more people become legal immigrants.
Anyway, I hope you're rather proud of yourself for calling someone "stupid" who (if you read my site regularly) is almost certainly smarter than you are. In any case, I went ahead and published your little insult so that your poor ego can at least have the benefit of seeing yourself in print calling someone else names.
By the way, why did you post your comment under a different article than the one you were complaining about?

Mr. Rossputin: I don't have a problem with my ego at all, but I do have a problem with your publicly painting the congressman with the broad stroke of "anti-immigrant", which is simply not true and which misleads the public as to position of the congressman on this hot-button issue of our times. I have spoken to the congressman myself in the past and seen/read his public pronouncements and positions over the years on this issue and have visited his website. By your own admission now, you are "clarifying" your position by substantively modifying your expressed views of Mr. Tancredo on this issue. With the power of your position in influencing public opinion and the state of Mr. Tancredo's public reputation, I strongly believe that your view of Mr. Tancredo on immigration, in all fairness, should have been more accurately represented to the public. I believe that you addicated your responsibilities as a journalist and cast the congressman in an unfair and inaccurate light.
I will concede that my "Hey Stupid" introduction was certainly not of an aristocratic greeting and falls short of my usual manners in discourse.
