Obituary: Jude Wanniski, journalist/economist, champion of "Supply Side" economics
Jude Wanniski, who coined the term "Supply Side Economics" died on Monday.
A hero of many economic/fiscal conservatives in part due to his role in bring the Laffer Curve into the mainstream, he was nonetheless somewhat tarnished by claims that Louis Farrakhan was not anti-Semitic.
(The Laffer Curve, famously drawn on a napkin by Arthur Laffer over 30 years ago, essentially says that government revenue could be increased by cutting taxes from high rates.)
Typical of the controversy Mr. Wanniski regularly stirred up, the NY Times (in the Herald Tribune article below) and the Washington Post can't even agree on what day he died.

Ross:
Jude is also known for coining the term "Progressive Conservative" and applying the term to the Reaganites in 1980...to distinguish the Pro-Con Reaganites from the Paleo-Cons.
Jude sent to me two e-mails on his role in coining Progressive Conservatism.
At my Blog, readers can find out more about the Wanniski E-Mails by clicking on the post: Wanniski Wins!: The 1980 and 1920 Sources of Progressive Conservatism.
And Thanks! for posting the information about the free-thinking and free-doing Jude Wanniski!!
