Several hundred people protest stimulus in Denver

At least three hundred Coloradoans, many holding up giant checks in the amount of $30,000 representing the new debt piled on every American by Barack Obama and Congressional Democrats protested the signing of the stimulus bill on Tuesday in Denver.

Even kids were there, protesting the Generational Theft Act.

About a dozen state legislators and elected officials spoke (all Republicans, of course), in an event organized by Americans for Prosperity with help from the Independence Institute, Michelle Malkin, and the Peoples Press Collective…where you can go to see many more pictures of the event.

A few liberals were there, but they failed to shout down the enthusiastic anti-"stimulus” crowd, many of whom were holding signs with references to Atlas Shrugged, to our children’s new debt, to pork, even to Hayek and Mises.

Nathan, a black pot-bellied pig was trotted out as the guest of honor, “stealing the other team’s mascot", as Jon Caldara put it.

After the various speakers, Michelle Malkin was the honorary server of pork sandwiches from a roast pig delivered just for the event. (Nathan was moved away from the area to prevent emotional trauma, in case any liberals might have been concerned.)

And of course, I was there with one of my favorite t-shirts:

Maybe you should also show the following of some of the people who also went to the rally.

    Mike,

Those people aren't too interesting, but if you want to see lots of pictures, go to peoplespresscollective.org

The idea that the guy with the swastika inside Obama's name is conveying any message other than the economic fascism we're being subjected to just shows how ignorant people are, but it was also a poor choice on his part because he should know that people are ignorant.

I don't really think there is ever an appropriate time to use a swastika to prove any point. He had to know that would be inflammatory and only take away from the legitimacy of the rally. I think there are many other appropriate ways to show dissent and make a point--without using a swastika.

On another note....I hope that Obama turns down GM and Chrysler, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I remember reading on many sites like this one when the initial bridge loans occurred that they would just come back for more in a few months...and they were right. I think the UAW and the outdated business model is the problem for these companies and they need to seek bankruptcy protection or be put out of their misery before more US taxpayer money is thrown at them. To paraphrase and economist I heard on NPR a few months ago, "maybe there are just too many people up there making too many bad cars." Probably so.

We NEED a NATIONAL MARCH to protest the stimulus tax money giveaway...We need to march on Washington and hopefully be noticed-heard. Wonder if NBC,CBS or ABC would even showup? Wonder if Oboma would even look out the window??
