Kerry's obvious mis-speak is not the problem. The problem is his venomous criticism of those who jumped on it and the fact that it obviously took other people advising him before he offered ANY sort of meaningful clarification or apology (48 hours later). Presidential matierial? I think not.

    Rusty,

    I agree.

I was listening to Senator Kerry’s explanation that he meant to take a shot at the President with his comment. He meant to say something like “study hard, because if you don’t, and you become President, you’ll get our country stuck in a mess like Iraq.” Instead he said “Study hard, or get stuck in Iraq.” I actually believe that Senator Kerry wasn’t trying to take a shot at the troops. But this just highlights what an idiot he is for saying that. This is on par with President Bush saying “Brownie, you’re doing a great job,” or “Mission Accomplished.”

When you look back at 2004, our choices for President were 1) Kerry, who puts flip-flops as much as John McCain and his stance on torture, and puts his foot in his mouth as often as possible, or 2) President Bush, who can’t put together a string of coherent sentences.

I would take Presidents Carter, Reagan, Bush I, or Clinton any day over either of these guys.
