The destruction of Dan Maes continues
The liberal-leaning Colorado Independent is the latest to question/accuse Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes about his prior business experience and claimed success.
In their article today, the Independent’s reporter interviews Maes’ most recent employer. The words that man has for Dan Maes are not words of praise or appreciation. He accuses Maes of trying to take employees and customer lists from the company he worked at in order to start his own business, competing with that employer.
Enough pieces of this puzzle are falling into place that the picture it creates is beginning to look sadly like what I expected it would when we learned more about Mr. Maes. I’ll ask him to clarify some of these issues when I sit down with him next week.
I think these news stories make Mr. Maes unelectable despite the hopes and dreams of Maes’ current supporters. It gives me no pleasure to say or think these things. I never liked Scott McInnis, and I still don’t. But just not being McInnis is not enough to make Dan Maes a decent choice.
