The wisdom of Thomas Sowell -- this time on health care

Good morning, all.

As I have a sick wife and two sick children (all probably with H1N1), I’m going to take a day off from blogging my own thoughts (because I’m too brain-dead to have any right now).

Instead, I would like to suggest you read two pieces by Thomas Sowell, one of the wisest and most interesting writers on politics and economics in America – or the world.

First, a short article called “Dismantling America", in which Sowell essentially argues that (1) Obama is trying to destroy what most of us recognize as America, and (2) nobody should be surprised.

And second, a long piece, the first in a 9-part series, as Investors Business Daily reprints a chapter of Sowell’s book “Applied Economics", a chapter called “The Economics of Medical Care."  The intellectual ammunition Sowell’s writing will provide for anyone who wants to understand the current debate over health care “reform” is invaluable.

I encourage you to return to this IBD link over the next week and a half to read the entire series.
