One thing comes to mind in reading this: when the Clinton Administration implemented HIPPA in 1996. I would love to have a dollar figure on what this has cost the healthcare industry and subsequently, passed on to the consumer.
Everyone from janiotor to chief of staff has to take the HIPPA training. It is, im my opinion, a "gotcha" rule to aloow some trial lawyer to sue the provider and the facility over someone's confidentiality being compromised. Confidentiality was a standard that was followed by providers and facilities without all the bureaucracy and cost involved. As a matter of fact, I have my yearly HIPPA training later this morning.
I see HIPPA type situations many times over coming out of that health care bill.
