Travel Photo: Herero people of northern Namibia

Hello all....just a quick posting today as I am preparing for a debate with a state Senator (nominally a Republican) in which I am opposing Colorado's Referendum C, the massive tax hike on the November ballot.

So, today's picture is a Herero family in northern Namibia, just going into the Kaokoland region. The Herero speak the same language as the Himba and are essentially Himba who were converted mainly by German missionaries to christianity, although the still retain some of their prior animist religious practices, and to Edwardian clothing. Like the Himba, they are friendly and colorful people. (Please click here for my posting about the Himba.)

You can find some more info about the Herero here and here.
