VOTE NO on Referendum C

Today's the big day...the final day Coloradans can vote on Referendum C, what would be the largest tax increase in the history of the state.

I urge you all to vote NO and get your friends to vote NO.

The basic reasons are:

1) Giving government, especially this government, more money will take away any pressure or incentive for them to deal with the real cause of our tight budget.

2) This is a PERMANENT tax increase, not a temporary time-out as the pro-C lie would have you believe.

3) Ref C fixes nothing, and puts Colorado at substantial financial risk. If things went badly, it opens us up to the types of deficits (on a percentage basis) that we saw in California just recently.

4) Even the turncoat Bill Owens has said for years that the cause of our budget challenges are not from TABOR and we should not make changes to TABOR (such as Referendum C) without also modifying Amemdment 23 which puts the biggest part of the General Fund's spending (K-12 education) on automatic pilot, requiring higher K-12 spending even when other things are being cut and even in the face of evidence that increased spending is not improving educational outcomes for our students.

GOOD LUCK TO OUR SIDE....I HOPE C FAILS, BUT IT'S MUCH TO CLOSE TO HAVE ANY CONFIDENCE.
