Who says a little warming would be the end of the world?
ClimateGate and the other parts of the collapse of the veneer of respectability of the “climate change” alarmist hoax are giving courage to scientists whose research doesn’t fit neatly into the Algore myth. With luck, it will also give some backbone to magazine editors who have been cowed out of publishing articles which would show “climate change” alarmists to be somewhere between careless with data and outright liars.
So, it’s no surprise to see a trickle such science emerge, such as these two articles from earlier this week:
First, a new study from the Australian Research Council’s Centre of Excellence for Coral Reef Studies entitled “Ancient corals hold new hope for reefs” which begins “Fossil corals, up to half a million years old, are providing fresh hope that coral reefs may be able to withstand the huge stresses imposed on them by today’s human activity." The study’s author adds “The fossil record shows that reefs have been remarkably successful in surviving large environmental disturbances", though to be fair he also believes that “it is important not to underestimate the magnitude of the challenges that reefs are currently facing.”
Second, a new study entitled “Tropical cloud forest climate variability and the demise of the Monteverde golden toad” says that the extinction of a cute little Costa Rican frog species which had been blamed on global warming was probably caused by natural cycles tied to the El Nino sea current as well as a deadly fungus which has killed other amphibians. (THIS story covers the study in better detail than the abstract link above.) As always (as with the story above), the scientists need to leave themselves wiggle room to stay on the good side of the alarmists and sound like properly concerned citizens of the world, and this scientist was no exception: “The fact that our research suggests it was El Niño and not anthropogenic climate change shouldn’t be any comfort when considering the future impact of climate change." Actually, Mr. Scientist, it should be plenty of comfort.

Ah, the power of denial. The evidence for global warming is overwhelming and the window of opportunity to make a difference about it is shrinking, and there are still some people who just hold out and drag their heels. Sad.

If you believe that, why don't you tell me which evidence you think is overwhelming?
Could it be that temperatures aren't rising?
Also, based on your web site, it appears you have some sort of financial interest in supporting environmentalism.
