On December 16th, 2005, our daughter,
Lili Claire
Kaminsky, was born.
(Click on her name or picture to see her web page.)

We also have our first two
children, Elvis and Roy.

One happy family!

On May 29th 2004, my younger
brother, Cliff Kaminsky, died in a
hiking/climbing accident.

Our family has set up a charity in his honor,
the Cliff Kaminsky Memorial Foundation.
Please visit the Foundation's web site

I am
a founder, with my business partner Steve Hoffman, of Brave Sky Trading II
LLC. From our office on Pearl Street in the beautiful (but hardly
diverse) Boulder, Colorado, we are a proprietary derivatives trading and
consulting firm.
I was a founding and Managing Member of Tahoe Trading, LLC.
Tahoe is gone, but I'll put a bit about it here because it was a big part of
my business life until now.

Tahoe
Trading LLC
was a member firm of the Chicago Board Options Exchange,
The
American Stock Exchange, and The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, and
was one of
the largest independent market maker firms in the United States.
Tahoe was created by a merger of my first trading company, Brave Sky Trading
(which I started in 1997), with Tahoe Trading, originally run from New York by my
good friend, Steve Braverman. I was actively involved in managing the
firm until I moved to Australia to be with Kristen in 2002. Dramatic
changes in the industry before and since that time removed most of the profit
opportunity from market-making, and in April, 2004, the remaining partners
decided to close the firm. It was a bittersweet moment, but I look
forward to many new opportunities, whether or not in financial markets.
Prior to Tahoe, I
was an independent market maker at the
CBOE
most of the time between 1987 and 1997, with a brief stint trading the DTB (the
electronic German derivatives exchange now part of Eurex). I
have also been a trader in soybeans options and futures on the
Chicago Board of Trade.

For nearly two years until
several months after moving to Australia, I served on the
Board of Directors of The
Heartland Institute, a libertarian and free-market think-tank based in
Chicago. My other interests
include other libertarian organizations (such as the Cato
Institute and the Institute
for Justice), scuba diving, adventure travel, snowboarding, great books,
great wine, and great chocolate.
I am actively involved
with the Colorado Club for Growth, working
to keep Colorado's government lean and mean. As with all governments,
it's generally a losing battle but I hope we are losing more slowly than we
would be without our efforts.
I spent a lot of time working with my girlfriend
wife as a sort
of business manager for her ceramics company, Omelette Design. We met
when I saw her ceramics for sale in Sydney and thought they were the best
functional ceramics I'd ever seen.
You can see
some of Kristen's work at Omelette Design,
but it's no longer possible to order since Kristen has closed down the
company. She'll start up something new and excellent when we relocate to
somewhere in the USA in 2004.
(contains many photos so may be slow if not on DSL or Cable
connection...)

Kristen
has since switched to painting, mostly abstract works on canvas. Her work, in
my exceptionally objective opinion is fantastic. You can see some of it
at her web site:

Here are a few photos of by Kristen's work
at Exhibitrek Gallery, who
represents Kristen here in Boulder. (That's Kristen's mom and dad
admiring the art.)
